The Co-op Presents The Nexus

One of the coolest things I remember from my very earliest days in Second Life ™ is a hunt I went on that took me to a very dark and scary place. I was terrified to be there, even virtually, but the clothes were beautiful, and I wanted the hunt prizes badly enough to brave the nightmare landscape of claustrophobic caverns. It took me days to learn that nothing dreadful was going to happen to me there, that it was safe to explore, and explore it I did, on many hunts and shopping expeditions in my first and second years. I grew to like the place so much I took new people there on tours.  I still wear the wonderful clothes.

That sim passed through several re-designs and is now long gone, but it made such a big impression on me that I’m always glad to find places like that: dark, industrial and post-apocalyptic with elements of unearthly fantasy, buzzing sparks, futuristic glowing lights and LOTS of ramps and scaffolding  and upper levels to climb around on.

So I LOVE the Nexus, this month’s Co-op theme!  You get to climb ramps, traverse scaffolds and duck under buzzing, sparking wires to make your way to all the shops in a three dimensional maze of futuristic decay.

The Nexus gave me a chance to play a few more riffs on the surreal glowing futuristic theme I’ve been exploring this year. These crested headpieces contrast the delicacy of fractal lace with hard edged tech in the programmed chase lights.

More techy Spyralle with a fantasy flavor, out now…

The Cage Collars have animated lights rising up the stalks in a chevron pattern. The mesh is original. The surface is not black but a plasma fractal I call “Lava Breaking Through” – here in cyan and purple. These mesh collars with scripted lighting made a very brief appearance at the end of World Goth Fair. You may not see them again until Autumn brings out all the goth steampunk dark fantasy.
