Edit: Someone asked if I was inspired by the song “Bernadette” by the Four Tops. Why, yes, indeed I was! It is an old favorite and ran on a continuous loop in my brain as I worked. Don’t know it? Go find it and listen! It is a masterpiece, and the Four Tops were the best of the best.
